Kudos to the Swiss goalie more like it... he had over 50 shots fired at him. I'm actually a little disappointed to see the Russians out of it... would have made for better finals.

I was at the game about 10 rows up from the Swiss goalie. It was a great game.

Out of 12 000+ fans, 11 900 where cheering for the Swiss.

I live in Geneva and the coach of the local hockey team, the Geneva Servettes is Chris McSorley. Ever hear of that family name in Canadian hockey?

There's some good fights on youtube of McSorley... I like the Probert ones a lot as well... or the old Stevens fights.

As far as the Junior tourney goes, it wasn't a surprise that Canada beat the Swiss... they may have a tough time beating the States though tomorrow. It will definitely be a good game to watch.

Eh! O'Canada, Go!!! :supz:

Ah well,

Can't win them all. The US played great, Canada had too many defensive breakdowns and poor goaltending. Makes next year worth watching....!

Great hockey game, someone has to loose.

Hey that USA coach didn't look like USA, don't the Austrians have their hair parted to the side? hmm
I noticed because I saw 'rabbit ears' on him at the end, ha ha.

The goal tender switch by the US was brilliant! I thought the penalty the Canadians got at the end of the third, was a bad call. He sure looked like he was pushed into the goal tender by the American? Maybe not. Great game. I think the goal tending was the difference though. Not a big fan of the four on four format in overtime.
Great game...then NHL could learn something from the guts and determination displayed by all.

It certainly was exciting. As soon as I saw the Canadian player who was coming down the right wing on the shot (just before the US 3-on-1) go around behind the net rather than cutting in front I felt they were in trouble. Too bad it turned out that way. But the game happens fast and the 4-on-4 format makes that kind of play, which 5-on-5 is really quite a small error, a much bigger thing.

On the positive side as an Oiler fan, for the first time in a long while it's nice to see a bona-fide first round draft pick that is going to make a positive impact. Woo-hoo!!

The Canadian goalie lost that game... he should have been pulled long before he was. The U.S. made the right move... if only the Canadians had done the same. Oh, well... you can't win 'em all. 5 in a row isn't bad.

The americans were a faster better team, and our goalies couldn't stop water balloons (not that constant giveaways and odd-man rushes help).

At least the game ended in OT and didn't go to a shootout, that outcome wouldn't have been fair to either side.

That, for sure. That's why I like Junior hockey way better than NHL.

If the Canadian goalies were French, it would be very different ;)

Yup I'm sure it would have been different. We would have watched history being made as Canada would have had six skaters out because again the french didn't show.
