Yes KFC's 3 rd DC-10 Arrived in Halilton on Jan 6 and the fourth is to arrive later this Winter.

Interesting. Are these for more Canada Post work, or are they replacing Puro 727's? Or for something else?

Well, the game plan is to replace the aging 727s with the aging DC10s!!

Wonder what happen to the first two DC-10's, don't see them in YVR during the day !
Anybody knows if KFC changed their operating times or are they gone for maintenance ?
They used to sit in YVR all day but since the new year I don't see them.

You obviously know more on this topic than I. All I know is a KF employee told me that they purchased 2 more DC-10's and the 3rd one was currently in YHM undergoing a C check by KFC maintenance. Please share with us what you know.

The MD-11's are looking old, can't imagine what KFC's CLG trunions look like and many other like areas.

With all these DC-10s lying around Flightcraft should be donating the use of them for the transport of relief supplies to Haiti. Its not like they are using them around the clock. Come on Barry you can afford to put some time on those airframes for good use. I heard Air Canada is planning a flight with an airbus but there is limited capacity for cargo on the pax birds. A heavy freighter could have a much larger impact than an pax airbus. Flightcraft, Cargojet and First Air both have heavies that could be put to good use. Come on guys lets on with it get these people help!

I see on Flightaware a First Air C-130 out of Washington,DC enroute to Port-au-Prince,Haiti tonight.

You have to remember that the facilities in MTPP are not that great even on the best of days. The ramp is already clogged with relief aircraft trying to get in, parking on the grass to accomadate everyone, and the support facilities are limited. Would they have a K-Loader to off load the -10? Also fuel is an issue, not available, so tankering would have to be the order of the day as well.

All 4 DC 10's are here. Althought not on line yet.

First Air's '67, and both Herc's went down to Haiti. I beleive the 67 only did one run, but the Herc's were there for a while, one of them may still be?

So what is KF doing with 4 DC 10's?
Doesn't make any sense unless they have gotten a nice new contract that nobody is talking about......

I think they borrowed one engine on each of the three DC10's to fly the fourth one!! There was one parked in YHM missing the number 3 a few weeks ago!!

Was just down to YHM today and saw two 10s sitting on the ramp...those things dwarf the '27.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but in an memo last Friday outlining the plans for the year, Purolator's CEO said "more DC-10's to replace 727's" later this year. Not sure if that means KFC is getting more or if KFC will be doing more Puro work with the 4 they have.

Flair is laying people off, that didn't last very long. KFC guys will be happy.

I wonder if those 2 DC10's with no engines will ever fly again? It changes ramp positions once in awhile though!!
