Looking for the good and bad from anybody who has taken any training there lately. I am looking at taking my multi engine rating there.

Run away, far and fast! If you're bound and determined to do your multi in the Cowgary area; either bite the bullet and eat the takeoff and landing fees YYC charges Morgan or go to the flying club at YBW, just stay away from their contract instructor.

The last I saw it; despite the work of the contract maintenance guys, the Aztruck was still a pile of crap. What else I know I'm not at liberty to repeat.

There isn't enough room to list the number of people and the number of ways they have screwed people over, stay far away

Definetly go to the flying club over Morgan. I did all my training at Mount Royal which is based at CYBW and I did my private at Morgan.
The reason I say to go the club, is for two reasons:
1)the club is great for meeting people
2) Cybw is a training airport. You can actually land when you request to do so. At the international, I could easily say that 1 out of 2 flights, I was asked to orbit for 10-15 mins. That alot of extra money at 350/hr. Plus the landing fees are $45 a touch.
Morgan is a really nice school but they have just lost there CFI. If you really want to do it at the INT'L make sure the unstructor is a good one. Otherwise the Flying Club will give you a the best training.

How would you know if you've never flown there? I did a discovery flight there ten years ago so I can say at least something first-hand about their training...
Maybe their stripes make them better...

Lots can change in 10 years.

Wasn't saying to go to the Club over the Calgary Flight Centre. Was recommending the club over Morgan. Been involved in flight training for 4 years in Calgary, the general vibe in Calgary is that Calgary Flight is the least favorable for flight training.
Might get lucky though, if you're willing to gamble.

You could also consider Springbank Air Training College

Calgary Flight isn't at YYC anymore, they moved to High River. They also have a new CFI, new planes - the only glass cockpit trainer in calgary, so you might want to give them another chance.

If the Gentleman (and I use that term loosly) that runs that place is J----- S-------- then I would suggest everyone to stay as far away from that place. There is a reason that place has moved from Apt to Apt to Apt and around the YYC area in the past ten years. I was a student there many years ago and totally f'd over. They have always had alot of flash with New a/c and now I guess a glass cockpit? But that is just to draw an uninformed individual person through the door.
