When I try to logon to AvCanada at my girlfriend's house I get this message:

You have been permanently banned from this board.

Please contact the Board Administrator for more information.

Reason given for ban: die spammer scum

A ban has been issued on your IP address.

What gives? I even grabbed a new IP but it still does this.

I already released and renewed her IP address from the ISP and got the same message. Maybe it didn't work though, I'll PM you her IP address when I get a chance later.

It could have been an IP range which was banned ... and it may not be "us" that initiated the ban.

Try looking up the IP address here: http://www.spamhaus.org/lookup.lasso

It will also give you instructions on what to do if you are on the list.

That is strange. I have been accessing this site from a number of ...stans, Iran, etc.. Never had a problem.

The "die spammer scum" message is courtesy of me, that IP must have previously spammed the AvCanada board before.

I haven't banned an ip range in ages, so I'm not sure why it would still show that if you got a new IP.

Pls PM me or another mod the related info and we'll fix it up.
