Provincial Airlines Hiring Process
Hi,
I was wondering if anyone had any information on Provincial regarding there hiring process. I was wondering if they hire pilots fresh out of training and have them work there way up through the company right up to Flying? Or if they only hiring people with experience.
Also, if there hiring now? Or in the future?
Also, there pay scale.
Thanks for any and all information.

Re: Provincial Airlines Hiring Process
They typically do a phone interview but most everyone hired have been through internal recommends. Halifax base has had a good bit of movement through it the past few months with upgrades, addition of crews, and people leaving. All hires outside the company there for for fo positions on the king air 200. The Montreal base just hired 2 SAAB 340 fo's and an upgrade internally I think. Dash 8 out of St.Johns will be hiring soon and we are short on first officers here with anticipated contracts and upgrades. Typically if you are low time you would start on the ramp and you would start off on the twin otter in Goose bay or the King air in Halifax. Lately they have just been hiring from outside and skipping the internal process because there has been to much movement and they cant afford to put a 200 pilot on a machine and not be in a position for an upgrade for 3 years. The last 3 first officers hired out of Halifax had 1500-2000 hours. They are a loyal company and once you get on here they are an excellent company to work for and reward for people who are loyal and work hard. If I were you and you really want to work for PAL I would build a bit of time and then start sending a resume and show your interest. Are you from the Maratimes or know anyone who works here?

Any idea what the time line is for hiring f/o's on the dash? Already been done or yet to come?
