Just wondering how easy it is for a Jazz pilot to pick up overtime? I see on AP Central that over 85 hours you're pulling 150%, so, hypothetically, how often would you do, say 95 hours in a month? And how many of your days off would you be forfeiting to do this? Just wondering cause with a couple calculations, a first year captain could be making around 100k +/- change, if they were doing that. I guess it boils down to how many days a month you're working, and approximately how many hours a day you're flying. But 95hrs/5.5 per day is 17 days a month more or less. Reasonable? Please don't turn this into a "low Jazz pay" post. There's plenty of info on this site about that already.
Thanks.

Re: Jazz Overtime
Overtime by exceeding 85hrs is not too common. It depends on the block average for the month, if your are scheduled to fly 82 credit hours due to delays you might creep past 85 but it wouldn't be a whole lot. I think I did it once and it was by about 6 minutes and was a pretty tiring month.
A simpler way to make overtime is to work on your day off. This is quite common, you put your name on a list and if something opens up, crew scheduling calls and offers you to come in and fly. It also pays time and a half. It's not uncommon to be offered a continuous duty as a WDO, nothing better then making $500 (if you include per diems) to go to work fly one leg, sleep a few hours and fly one leg back.

Re: Jazz Overtime
The other thing you need to know is that Jazz has no first-year Captains. When you go into the left seat, you carry your years of service over and slide into that pay scale. Right now, the junior Captain has nine years... thus, take a look at the nine-year Captain pay scale...

In a world full of people, only some want to fly. Isn't that crazy?
