Just looking for the straight dope...not all the crazy horseshit that made my eyes cross from the other thread.

Unfortunately, all that "crazy horseshit" is directly related to whether or not there is hiring/advancement. Keep your panties on for a few months to see what the implementation dates will be for those over 60 returning to the company, how many that will be and what the next couple of equipment bids show. If you are looking for a simplistic answer, NO there won't be any hiring "anytime soon".

Well, maybe not so far off in the distance now. More rumours of the hiring process firing up before the end of the year... pending retirement rulings, unpredictable volcanic eruptions and any sort of terrorist attack.

talked to a few AC management guys. And...apparently in YWG all bays are filled with an airplane and no one working on it. Dying for man power.

I bet AC will start recalling soon. AC will start feeling the pressure when they realize they got a whole bunch of airplanes on the ground.

Don't even understand why they lay off in the first place.
