Post by lowleveljet »

confederation, canadore, centennial, mohawk seem to be the most popular, or at least have the most info available.

what are your thoughts?

Canadore if you want to do anything except work for the airlines(great a/c and facilities, great city, great people)

Centennial if you are ESL and want to work at the airlines (Scarborough is an absolute shithole)

Confed if you really like the north

"Mr. Heliian" IS half right. Canadore is good if you want to do anything excpet work for the airlines. Having said that 95% of the guys who graduate from there ASSume that they are top notch "engineers" however they are only good for standing around and doing fuc|< all, I think you call them paperweights. (If you do choose this school please dont end up like Heliian)

Centennial is good as well but you get what your pay for, facilities are not as amazing as north bay from what I hear but the guys who teach you are really top notch with so much experience and knowledge to share. You will learn alot from them; stuff that you cannot learn in books either.

By best advice for you is to be humble. Look, Listen & Learn.

Ouch, paperweight.

Sounds like somebody just got laid off from Jazz. I chose helicopters because of the fact that you don't stand around doing FA and you'll get to travel to exciting and far off places, not just a grease monkey in coveralls in some dirty shop somewhere. Call me whatever you want, but don't call me lazy. In fact only 5% of the guys who came out of Canadore are lazy, i think they might be teaching at centennial now. Getting a good education is an important start and then developing your skills over the years you will become a superior engineer. Knowledge is power, never stop learning!

Do you want to do structures, avionics or engines?

I did Structures at Sault College. Amazing teachers and excellent skills and knowledge. That education has taken me around the country.

i would like to do a bit of everything, which i think is just called AME, or AME-M? otherwise probably engines. i'm not especially interested in avionics or structures specifically.

what types of AME licenses are out there? i've heard of AME-M, AME-S, AME-E - which i assume are maintenance, structures and electronics...?
