ORNGE Hiring

How does HR at Ornge contact people after interviews? In general some companies call people back right away if they are hiring them and they don't bother to contact unsuccessful candidates. Also, does Ornge always call references?

Saw they were looking for a new DFO recently, what happened to the old one?

Any updates on the future expansion plans and hiring for that matter?

They just posted looking for "pilots", with 2,000 hours required, so I guess only captains for now.

CYQT, CYXL and CYTS are the current pilot bases. I'm sure they'll expand beyond that at some point, but only time will tell.

Any one know what sort of rotation/shift pattern they are running? And, is 'On call' accomodation provided, or is it just a case of 'sit at home and wait for the beeper to go off'?

Many Thanks,

I thought it was 6 & 6, no? And you sit at base? I thought this was the case, at least in YXL.

Hey everyone,

I’ve exchanged PMs with several of you over the past few months regarding your inquiries about Ornge piloting positions, and here we are…! I may not be able to tell you everything you’d like to know about them, but I will help where I can. I’m watching this thread, and if I see a question that I’m able to answer, I will. Anything you don’t see me pop in about is something that we’re probably talking to people about only at the interview stage and beyond…

To start off with a bit of clarity, I recently received a PM asking if we are hiring for Captain or F.O positions, and I also see it has come up in this thread. Here is the answer: We are looking for both.

Best of luck to all applicants!

 Typical bureaucrat... love to hear (or read) themselves so much that it takes forever to get a simple answer from them.

Speaking of Typical.... gotta love AvCanada

Thanks woneil, always appreciated to get the goods from the source rather than speculation.

I agree that its nice to get some info straight from the horse's mouth or at least some sort of animal that looks like a horse.

Agreed. Shocking. You'd think everyone would welcome official sources here. Go figure. Hey everyone - lets scare away the professional employers here ok?!?! ;-)

toelessjoe, CaptJack; thanks for the responses. Just one other question, any idea as to which bases they are hiring for? YXL,YQT,YTS, or all 3?

Cheers,

DN
