FLICA

Post by The Vault »

Can someone explain to me exactly what FLICA is and how it works? Apparently we might be getting it or something similar at Jazz and I'm curious.

FLICA is a program that enables you to change your schedule; drop a pairing, a day or a last leg - the catch is someone has to pick it up for it to be removed from your schedule. You can pick up open flying (people like you trying to drop stuff) and you get that extra credit. I can see this working out well for junior people who don't get the sched they want, and trading amonst eachother.

I've heard nothing but great things from WJ comutters about flica. When I saw that was in the TA, I have to admit i envisioned life as a comutter getting a whole lot better.

This would be an awesome thing to have. I like how the FA's can sell/buy pairings from others and trade shifts, I was hoping one day we'd get something similar.

to be clear, FLICA is not in the TA. Jazz could choose another provider.

Way to rain on my parade Matted, flica or a system like flica, either way it is supposed to accomplish the same thing. I hope.

Information on Flica. Its worth every penny as it reduces the need for crew schedulers as well.

Based on past practices, especially in IT... I am not going to hold out for FLICA at Jazz if there is a cheaper "equivalent" out there. Hopefully I am going to be wrong on this one...

I've just downloaded the new Flica iPhone app. It's free until August and looks pretty neat. Does anyone know what they want to 'charge' for it after that date? Must be tough trying to sell things to pilots....
