Air Bravo bought out Thunder
Just heard this evening that Air Bravo now owns Thunder Air. Staff were notified via mass e-mail sendout.

That's kind of funny. Good for Rick. I remember years ago when Air Bravo and Paladin/Advanced Air came into the YQT medevac market. Word on the street was that Air Bravo would be under in 6 months and Paladin would put everyone out of business.

Re: Air Bravo bought out Thunder
In life timing is every thing, Thunder Airlines owner(s) were ready to retire and move on to other things. Air Bravo definately needed to get bigger to protect its market share especially inlight of recent events re ornge and the sale of bearskin to the eif group of companies.
1) Most in the know / some of the big shareholders in Thunder Airlines were the same as the ones who owned the Da Bear.
With perimiter having a bls medvac arm and looking to grow. it is a good blocking move by bulking up also to protect the charter market from further encroachment from out of province (ontario) competitors.
2) with ornge now having its second 12 in tbay and getting bigger with more 12's on the way. The previous advanced care revenue stream is a shadow of its former self for any private low cost operator.
The buyout by Air Bravo of Thunder-Air being able to cover the entire province of ontario 24/7 and not have to pull equipment in and out of charter /to medivac has the potential to save 10's of thousands of $annually in wear n tear/ crew frustratation / delays and unhappy customers. and that is just the start of the savings in economies of scale.
This will be the tricky part organizational culture > as it is in many merger/accquisitions. they were competitors with some similar styles of operating however the management structure and mangagement style of the two companies was very different. Simple vs complex/ High human relations vs Classical will be very important to do a proper organizational culture audit to see which type of merger stategy works best in order to have a longterm success . and realize those savings if the new (bigger)company fails to plan/ execute. and get buy in from and involve the flightline pilots /engineers and other employees to transforming the workplace into a high involvement managerial strategy then the losses from the resulting staff turnover and training will out weigh any savings.
congrats and if you need a 703 h.r. pm me

Okay, but with a well managed web-enabled matrix to secure secondary customer loyalty and up-sized/intangible/leverage-reactive/high-level intranet and switchable full-range monitoring and persistent context-sensitive strategies with dedicated orchestration a face to face object-oriented initiative, proactive zero administration standardization can be realized.oldncold wrote:Simple vs complex/ High human relations vs Classical will be very important to do a proper organizational culture audit to see which type of merger stategy works best in order to have a longterm success . and realize those savings if the new (bigger)company fails to plan/ execute. and get buy in from and involve the flightline pilots /engineers and other employees to transforming the workplace into a high involvement managerial strategy then the losses from the resulting staff turnover and training will out weigh any savings.

Touche Rudy ! however the virtual or modular can only accomplish so much as obviously you know. The loss of face to face contact dimishes the effectiveness of the over all buyin from frontline employees. The classical strategy , simple mgt structure and span of the principal of the company has always rubbed up against a highly educated workforce that prefers a high involvement managerial strategy. This fact tends one to believe that there will be friction through the transition period. Unless the said principal has realized that with growth beyond the scope of 100+ employees and a recognition of the differences i the gen x y and now nexters vs the baby boomers. In which he belongs to, it will be a rough ride. This group in the current workforce likes to work however the work life balance and intrinsic benefits must equal the punishing hours. and disruptions to the sleep rythms/ how on that Rudy.?

All these high-falutin' business buzzwords and not one use of the term synergy. I'm disappointed in the both of you.
