Hi,
Have any of you guys ran a Garrett on the water? Does it pick up spray anyworse than a PT-6 on a DHC-3 or C-208?
We want to buy a Caravan on amphibs for lakes at around 5,000 feet elevation in the summer. Has anyone been up there or tried a C-208 with a Honeywell conversion?
Thanks

Is there a reason you are not looking at the -3T?

I've run the Garrett on a -3 quite a bit, and it didn't pick up anymore spray. It was an awesome engine loved it. I flew the -3 with a PT6-34 before the Garrett. I must say the Garrett is #1 in my book.

The only reason to get a Van, vs Swine is IFR/Night a capability you lose with the garrett conversion. Go with the -3

I could be wrong, but I think the only commercially owned Garrett van on floats is owned by Talon Air in Alaska. You could try giving them a phone call.
