After a long time away from posting in the flight training forum I ventured back in there and so far it is going quite well.

What changed?

Those who were on your case constantly and throwing everything back in your face seem to have disappeared. Of course, I'm still here.

Some of us newer people have respect and know that we still have a lot to learn!

If anything, I've probably gotten worse lately

Good to have you back, .! The hard thing about instruction
for experienced guys is often realizing just how much you know
(and take for granted) that the new guys don't. You've got an
awful lot to pass on to the new guys, even if it doesn't always
feel that way to you.

Apart from teaching landings, probably one of the most stressful
part of flight instruction is trying to make sure that you didn't
forget to teach the student anything. Ha, ha.

Glad you're back Cat.

Today was a big day for me as I was a guest speaker at the Nanaimo Flying Club.

I had no idea what I was going to talk about because I have been so frozen in my ability to get out of the box I have been in since Oct. 01....but it went quite well and I am glad I went....for sure I almost didn't.

Who would ever think that someone who has lived the life I have would be almost unable to function?

Anyhow even though I left so tired I could hardly drive home it was worth it.

So that is two steps back to starting a new life.

Posting here again and talking to a group of fellow aviators.

STL, Hedley is one of my goals for this year.

Come summer I am planning on a trip with my motorhome and he is right on the top of my to see list.

Anyone who takes on the regulator as aggressively has he did can't be all bad so we share two traits.....we both understand a bit about how to drive stuff and we don't bow to bullying.

I look on your guys as a resource, a living connection to the time when making a good forward slip into a short grass field was a lot more important then programming the latest electronic nav-aide.

Cat, I'm in and out of CYCD with my Clipper on a semi-regular basis and I'd love to see the Cub project sometime; coffee on me.

Same here. If I see a post by you or Hedley or MichaelP (or Big Pistons Forever, Shiny Side Up, or Lurch for that matter) in the Flight Training forum I always look because I know I am going to learn something.
