Just a thought, but with the dollar so strong, beaver prices are down and you might find a beaver our there for pretty much the same price. pm if you are interested.

My completely overhauled (new engine, prop, avionics, paint, etc) 182 on Aerocet Amphibs and IO-550 leases for $3000/month plus $35/hr. On a 100 hr month that's $6500 or $65/hr.

Seaplanes West has a gross weight STC for the 182 on Aerocets that takes it up to 3360lbs. Giving over 1200lbs useful load on straights and over 1000lbs useful on amphibs.

They have three models approved already.

link to gross weight increase of 3360lbs for C182 aircraft.

On a 100 hr month that's $6500 or $65/hr.
Just wondering how that is possible if you have to cover: prop, engine, amphib float servicing reserves and insurance?? Not to mention, wear and tear on everything as well as the outlay of cash for the asset?

What is not included your above rate?

What would an amphibian caravan lease for and what are we expect to pay to the lessor? What would be the minimum lease time and maximum lease time?

thanks

2% of the aircraft value is a pretty standard industry guideline for monthly lease rates.

Most leases now will be based on an hourly figure, with a minimum usage. An annual minimum could be anywhere from 400 to 700 hrs. If you are planning on a 200 summer you are going to want to shop around for a lease that fits that usage.

Thanks Phillyfan for the note.

so for a million dollar machine (caravan) were looking at $20000 a month and would you pay an hourly fee on top of that to cover the TBO.

That's a pretty expensive lease for a caravan.

thanks for the update

I've been away at camp for the past 7 or 8 weeks and appreciate the feedback. Unfortunately I ran out of time to do anything for this year as I started my research too late. Is there anyone out there offering a 6-8 week lease with 100 hr. minimum?

Hi Sheep

Sadly Kevinsky18 will not be answering, he lost his life last year in an aircraft accident.

No, Component overhaul is generally in the hands of the owner.

I have a Caravan Lease. Let me dig it up and give you the numbers.

first I'ts terrible to hear about kevinsky and may his family and friends remember him very fondly. Life is too short and when things like this happen too early to someone it sucks.

thank you phillyfan and looking forward to getting that info from you. So you would only pay let's say the $20K a month and no hourly fee to cover for the engine.

thanks
