Interview
I have been called for a interview, I put CV in on tuesday and got called wed... That was fast. How long is the process for interview and sim eval and finally the medical? Has anybody been in a interview recently? It would be much appr if you could give a little insight.. Thanks in advance.

Re: Interview
I applied online on Thursday and got a call Friday. I was away on a flight so I'll call them on Monday.
That's got to be the quickest response ever.

Re: Interview
This was about 5 years ago or so.....
Everything was about 2 weeks apart,
Got the call, interview date set 1 week after the call.
1 week after interview got called for a sim, Sim date set one week after that call.
1 week after that sim, got called for a madical which was set a week later...
A few days after the medical they called my references, and about 2 days after that got called for a groundschool. i tookk the 1st one available which was 2 weeks after the call
So from the initial call to to 1st day of Groundschool was about 2 months.
They do give you choices on the interview dates ans sims,
Some people went quicker, some took longer, a lot of the times is coordinating training classes and sim slots. I do not know when the next classes will be.
Good luck all

Re: Interview
I'm curious what the guys that are getting calls have for time.
I'm at 2700 hours with ATPL. No call back for me yet. I'm guessing I'm still considered low time for Jazz.
What does it take to get noticed there?

Re: Interview
Wow. I was hoping it might be somewhere around 3-4000 hours average. I'm definitely not going to wait by the phone.
Re: Interview
It is well deserved guys with your experience get called, on the other hand I wonder why does jazz set the bar so high ? it might be a bit more complicated than just the "offer and demand" theory.

Re: Interview
Don't beat yourself up, 4 years ago I was hired with 2700 hours, my time consisted of about 90% Multi though. I also had a friend of mine though that had the same time and quality of time as me. They hadn't noticed him at all.BE20 Driver wrote:I'm curious what the guys that are getting calls have for time.

In my class I was the lowest timd guy by about 700 hours, I believe the closest to me was 3400, may have been 3600. We had one guy with 7200.
When they offered me the job I asked what they were looking for.
The recruiter Steve told me than asked why? Told him about my buddy and that he hadn't got a view yet, steve took his name and buddy had an interview 2 weeks later. So if you have any buddies that are going through the process, if they get on ask them to drop a hint to the recruiter.
Just keep updating/making new profiles on workopolis, it'll get noticed.
Good luck
Re: Interview
Scopiton, It's not that they're setting the bar high, if you have applicants with that high of time, why wouldn't you go through them first? Once that pile dwinddles down, they'll start going through lower time piles. Remember when WJ wouldn't even accept an application with less than 5000 hrs, that setting the bar, in Jazz's case there's no bar, the hours are all over the place from 220TT to 10000+It is well deserved guys with your experience get called, on the other hand I wonder why does jazz set the bar so high ? it might be a bit more complicated than just the "offer and demand" theory.

Re: Interview
One would think that it would be Air Canada's type of flight time and yet these guys probably didn't get called (or it didn't work with AC).
I have 3400h, 1100h on the Dash and didn't get called so their must be some pretty good looking resumes out there.
Anyway, wish you guys the best of luck for the interview, I have numerous friends there and they all seem to enjoy it!

I've got my interview booked for Feb. 4th. I feel ok with that. My question is, what is the medical like?

Where did you do your medical? YYZ? I have heard Medicaid being done wherever an not just a major centre.RFN wrote:My medical had the pee test, EKG, hearing test, as well as the usual full Cat I stuff.
Re: Interview
Air Canada closed fogul's office, so now you have to go to his Tache office or CN office. I remember once when I was there I asked what a certain machine was for, it was the one that check for ear canal blockage, the nurse said that they used it mostly to give FA's the okay to go back to work. I took it at the time, with the tone of the voice to mean, to call bullshit and send them back to work. I guess now there's no FA's based there, the office was one less cost required. Anyhow, I'm glad Dr. fogul is still around, been going to him for at least 10 years.

I have informed him of everyone's overwhelming support for him and that retirement would not the best idea.

I was hired in Feb 2008 with 2200 hrs, 50/50 single/multi, Northern Experience, ATPL, and a degree. Some in my class had more, some had less.
