Years ago there used to be 'loss of licence' insurance. Not sure if this is still available.

I'd become a vegan bee-keeper...
Or get into aviation safety/human factors, TSB perhaps. There are lots of other jobs within aviation that don't require a license and you experience would still be of considerable value.

Retire. Put some really serious miles on my motorcycle. Buy a small boat, anchor it in the Bahamas and have my wife send me beer money.

Start a chisel charter where passengers become 'temporary shareholders' with a company which happens to own an aircraft.
<runs and hides>
Naw, I'd just wrench full-time.

Plus if you still have a medical you can fly home for Pizza, chinese food and a conjugal a few times a year.sky Rookie wrote:this sounds like a great idea without losing my medicalDoc wrote:Retire. Fly drugs for a mexican cartel. They don't generally ask for a medical
Winning

Gotta ask Doc, what are you riding these days? I managed about 11000 kms last year...m109r. Sorry for the derail.Doc wrote:Retire. Put some really serious miles on my motorcycle. Buy a small boat, anchor it in the Bahamas and have my wife send me beer money.

The wee Bandit. 650 inline 4, liquid cooled. Small, cheap to insure, handles great. Ride safe!raven54 wrote:Gotta ask Doc, what are you riding these days? I managed about 11000 kms last year...m109r. Excellent bike. Just about bulletproof too. When I bought mine, two of my buddies after trying it sold their bikes and bought one.Doc wrote: The wee Bandit. 650 inline 4, liquid cooled. Small, cheap to insure, handles great. Ride safe!
Had enough winter, can't wait for two wheeling season.

We can't stop here! This is BAT country!

Alas, i have to many scars and wrinkles and am way too ugly to consider a career in the adult film industry.
So i would have to scrape the rust off my tools and go back to one of my trades

Give a big bride to the doctor.
Re: Losing your Medical: What would you do?
become a chef, somewhere warm and near salt water, fresh sea food and I'd be putting a ton of miles on two wheels, make up for not spending too much time on my '86 Katana last year. Bring on the sunshine folks!

My brother in law wants to open a beach bar in Taiwan. We'll be looking for cute wait staff.
Re: Losing your Medical: What would you do?
Cat Driver would have given me this idea if I asked. Quality control and test pilot in a Florida whorehouse.
When I lost mine, it was temporary so I used pogey, got my medical back and then retired.
Everyone seems to survive, it's not quite the end of the world. You will or should be able to do something to do to bring home the bacon. Just have to get creative.
If the medical condition is not too serious, TC now seems to give a restricted category like I have, I have to have a babysitter, another pilot who is rated.

The average pilot, despite the somewhat swaggering exterior, is very much capable of such feelings as love, affection, intimacy and caring.
These feelings just don't involve anyone else.

When was the last year they made them. I thought they stopped in 1985.107 wrote: make up for not spending too much time on my '86 Katana last year.
Someone post a picture of the "Wee Bandit." I'm getting close to wanting one of those armchair cycles.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suzuki_Katana
"Suzuki also produced 550 cc (34 cu in),650 cc (40 cu in) and 750 cc (46 cu in) versions of the Katana. The 650 had a shaft drive, while the 1984-1986 SE/SF/SG 750 is distinguished by having a pop-up headlight. The air cooled GSX family, of which the Katana was a member, gave way to the equally revolutionary oil-cooled GSX-R series in 1985."
Best I can tell they skipped 87 and in 88 started turning it into the sport touring ... thing ... it is now. Not fan of the new versions at all, but hey, there's a market for it I suppose.
There are certainly worse things to do with no medical, lol.
