Re: Airport in Georgia
My gf lives in Georgia, so I've had a bit of time to go down there and see around.
I would throw in a pennie for Gwinnett County Airport in Lawrenceville...which is an hour drive NE of Atlanta.
If you want to stop in Southern Georgia, I've heard Savannah (on the coast) is nice as well.

KSSI Malcolm McKinnin. More to the south on the coast but nice place to stop, good restaurants cute little village type area. St Simons, I think it was called.

in the north, KGVL (Gainsville). Champion aviation has a reasonable FBO. Longest runway is 5500', though, not sure what you are flying.
Otherwise, if you want something close to Atlanta, then definitely KPDK.
Could also try KAGS (Augusta), but not sure if that's too far along your route for your fuel stop.

Re: Airport in Georgia
KAGS doesn't have customs, but PDK does. PDK is a nice airport. We go to KAGS every year for the Masters Golf tourney and clear in KRDU on the way down. KAGS itself is a decent airport - the GA terminal is nice, and they offer free lemonade and shortbread cookies, so there's that.
KSAV Savannah has customs, but they are located @ the Signature ramp and the money-grubbing vampires @ Signature will ding you for an outrageous ramp fee even if you are just clearing customs. No, I'm not bitter
Brunswick Golden Isles (KBQK) has customs, and it's a nice, low-use airport. The scenery is spectacular but there are lots of GA aircraft around on nice weather days, so make sure you keep a good scan going around you to avoid midairs. They also have a Gulfstream factory and some nice airplane eye-candy on the ramp on occasion.
You could also consider KILM (Wilmington NC) - it's not too far from northern Georgia and customs there is also fast and efficient (most days).
