I just wrote SARON
I just wrote the SARON and wanted to give a heads up.
The graphs and charts on my exam were completely different than what is in the TC reference guide. I had heard they had changed them on the exam and that was definately the case with my exam.
Anyone written the SAMRA lately? Has there been significant changes to that exam?

Re: I just wrote SARON
I wrote the SAMRA last week and there were not any surprises in terms of charts. In fact the GFAs that were on the exam were the easiest GFAs to interpret that I have ever seen on an exam. I finished it in less than an hour and got 84. I did do the Aerocourse though and they had us using some of the cluttered GFAs I have ever seen!
There was not any Prog charts or surface analysis. Just GFAs, a diagram depicting pressure readings around a high and a diagram that depicts pressure readings around a Low and asks which direction the wind would blow at a specific spot.
Hope that helps!

Good to know.
What percentage of the SAMRA exam was MET vs radio aids to navigation and flight planning?

On the SAMRA 60 questions Met, 20 Radio Aids. Of that, 30 of the MET questions were on GFAs, METARs, TAFs, FD (only one question).

funny I left any math to the end of my atpl exams but I knew I had well exceeded the standard so I didn't give a rats ass about preformance charts and the funny part is no one else gives a @#$! about me doing the charts either. the answers might have been right or wrong it didn't matter as long as you meet the standard.

Im not sure I'm comfortable doing that. I'd rather make every effort I could to get the best mark possible not just a pass.
I'm almost at 1000hrs now and I'm going to write the SARON and SAMRA in the next week or two. Try and get it out of the way before I head back to work.
Is it true that on the SAMRA they are no longer asking ADF/NDB questions?

Re: I just wrote SARON
I just wrote mine and had several questions on ADF/NDB. At least 2 questions on errors I think (coastal refraction, and what happens when operating near thunderstorms).
