I need help, again.
I have gone back to work and the company I am working with needs to move 16 people from Vancouver to Palm Springs.
The plan is leave on Friday evening hold in Palm Springs and return Sunday afternoon, the trip will be in October.
Two small jets would be perfect, but a couple of turbo props might do it.
Any suggestions?

Hey Cat Driver. While maybe not the quietest machine out there see if Perimeter is willing to do it for you guys, should be cheaper than 2 jets
.

Re: I need help, again.
If time is way more important than money, then I'm sure that London Air Services could do the job, with a few lears, or potentially something bigger if required.
If your clients are somewhat flexible on time and want to save a whack of money, then WestJet flies from Vancouver to Palm Springs as well.
Those are the two options that spring to mind right away.
Cheers

Try these...
http://www.londonair.ca/
http://www.blackcombaviation.com/
You might try
http://www.ntair.ca/
They should have a 1900 and a KA 100 that could do it.

The list goes on. Only limited by your wallet.

With 16 people I would think an NT Air 1900 would be the best choice. If you are looking for corporate style transport then I would suggest London Air.
Re: I need help, again.
One thing I've always wondered if a Falcon 20 could be retrofitted to fit 19 people. I know certification issues come up, but the size inside is the same as a J31. Fast way to move quite a few people, fast.

Erm...
Don't Air Canada and Westjet have a scheduled service?

Yes they do.Erm...

However their schedule does not fit in with a weekend company managers meeting involving 16 people.
Thus the need for charter.

A 1900D would work. Without looking at numbers I would say one fuel stop each way. Another option is Jazz, charter a Dash 8. If they don't have one, the other option is to bring one in from Calgary. Lots of lift available on the weekends in Calgary. Both 1900's and Dash 8.

Re: I need help, again.
For commuter options I would recommend a B1900D if you are okay with making a stop for fuel. 16 + baggage might be a stretch direct for a B1900D.
Second option would be a Saab 340, you can go direct with lots of weight for baggage.
If you want to go corporate, 2 Lear 45's might work but they would be maxed out with baggage and 8 pax each.
You would be much more comfortable with two Falcon 50 flights or even Falcon 20's.
I know someone owns and operates a 19 seat Challenger Corporate shuttle which would be perfect, but cannot remember who. Maybe based in YYC??
Someone mentioned a Perimeter Metro, too damn loud, dirty cabin, extremely uncomfortable. Would not recommend sending a bunch of Managers to Palm Springs in a Northern Manitoba Metro.

The 19 seat challenger is Swanberg Air, but I'm not sure if they have it crewed at the moment.
Re: I need help, again.
Flight Exec out of YXU has a Falcon 7X and a challenger 604.

Re: I need help, again.
I'd do it in the 200 but it would be a few trips back and forth.
The ones that come to mind are Northern Thunderbird for the 1900 and Pasco for the Saab. Most economical way to go I would think. What about Regional 1 or CMA?
Jazz is another option. I had looked into a weekend charter a few years ago at another company. I was surprised at how expensive Jazz was. I don't remember the rate or the holding charges and Jazz may not have really wanted the trip so don't write them off just based on my recommend.

Yes I stopped for a few years after doing the short contract in Greece for Air Sea Lines.Working again? I thought you never stopped? Best to you.
With Pene gone I have to find something to keep me going so I am back to work for a few years, I will end up flying a corporate helicopter until I get to old to out think the thing. Or the company joins ACPA.

Finding suitable charter flights for sixteen people from Vancouver to Palm Springs is an interesting project.

Re: I need help, again.
I used to do that in a Racer and I remember once being vectored over Mt. Hood and all the passengers, who were already pissed, were lying on the floor looking distinctly "cyan" (aviation colour). I did it again in a Global at 490 and that was better. Shorter too, no fuel stop.
Congrats on the work, good to have you contributing those payroll taxes again; how could we possibly shoot at Ghadaffi or pay for those French airports without you? And you won't be hanging about on street corners anymore, frightening the ladies.

Re: I need help, again.
2 Lear 45's would be suitable as long as the pax pack light (which I assume they would for 2 days) unless the passengers are bringing clubs. Probably the most cost efficient option, although not the most economical.

Re: I need help, again.
Two Lear 45 can do it for sure, they will not be playing golf as it is a company meeting.
I already have the quote on the Lears.

Sunwest Aviation.

They have everything. King airs, 1900D's Lear 45, Hawker 800, Cessna Sovereign, Falcon 900. They have a base in YVR, and aircraft position is not a problem as they are always in and out.

AirSprint. Think they have a few shuttle configured PC12's (9 pax) Can't beat the DOC's on that machine.

Re: I need help, again.
I would take the 1900. I think it would be able to do the trip non-stop with everyone on board. Not sure what the mileage is exactly but a BE02 has about a 7000 lb useful load, which should give you room for 16 pax, light bags and 4 hours of fuel at 260-280 KT, so pretty damn far. Would be the simplest and most economic choice. I'd call NT Air.
