Hello to everyone!
I am a newly licensed commercial pilot with just about 250H and looking for my first job.
I send about 195 applications in the last 2 months everywhere in Canada, stating that i would start as a whatever they want me to be, yet no reply.
Does anyone know a company known to hire entry level pilots?
Thanks for your help,
Andy

Use the search function on Avcanada.

Transwest Air in Saskatoon usualy hires around 30 every spring.
CMA in Vancouver hires to the ramp
Go on a road trip

You're doing it wrong.
Get yourself a decent haircut, clothing and go on a road trip and try to meet as much operators as you can. Lots of them are hiring this summer. Sending and faxing resume will get you nowhere, especially with 250 hours. Be prepare to work on the ramp 1-2 year.

Well working on the ramp is just fine, got nop prob for that, same goes for the ahir cut and the clothes!
i do work as a service director for a canadian charter airline, and most pilots tell me the same, the proble is where to start! i was planning on going to yelloknife at the end of this month, and go do some door to door, but sometimes the prob is knowing where to go!

make sure where ever you go that you will be able to progress (not get stuck in the right seat of one airplane)People make fun of CMA wages but 80 hours a month in strick SOP enviroment with lots of movment and a history of going to the bigs in 4-5 years can't be to bad, hint get a part time job to handell your debt repayments. if airlines arn't your cup of tea, YZF (yellowknife) is good for an adventure. Whitehorse is the northren shangri-la if your making money so you might want to stay out of their. KBA in calgary has started alot of carriers. Perimeter is good if your survive a metro into those shit strips.

Sending out hundreds of resumes with no response can be really frustrating I know. From my experiences I would recommend going to Mark's Work Warehouse, buying some Cartharts and a pair of work of gloves and head north to Yellowknife. If you show interest and are willing to work hard there should be no problem getting hired on the ramp for one of the companies up there. You will learn the ins and outs of the company and meet great people. Working in the north was very rewarding for me and some of the best times of my career. Good luck!!

I heard that West Wind Aviation in Saskatoon is looking for King Air 200 F.O.'s. They only require 250 hrs to get started. Lots of 703/704/705 opportunities once you get in.

My 1st flying job was flying skydivers and I certainly learned alot and had a blast. Don't expect to get rich but you wil be able to build some hours and get ALOT of take-offs and landings. Check out
www.dropzone.com for a full listing of dropzones.
