Declined assessment session, now what?

Hey guys, just a couple questions if you'd be so kind,

Last April I did the online application for NavCanada, and it took them a year to get back to me (got the email this past April). Anyways, in that year span I joined the military, and because I'm on a training course, am unable to attend the assessment session in June. Am I going to be able to attend a different session later on, or do I have to start from the beginning? Also, is NavCanada willing to give a bit of leeway with start dates, if I join in a couple years when my contract with the military is up, and have to wait for my release date?
