1. You will work a lot. 14 hour days are "standard". "Extending" is common place too.
2. $27k to start as FO (give or take a few bucks).
3. The pilots that work there are top notch and great people.
4. Upgrade time depends on big red and the teal Scarf. Lots of current FOs with upgrade time waiting. Expect a year or more.
There are more posts on the subject. Do a search. GGN is a great stepping stone.

PCC shows they're hiring crews for YYC. What kind of time do they want FOs to have? How is opening a new base in YYC affecting minimum requirements?

From what my friends say(all work there) there is another ground school starting in the fall of this year. Apparently they need guys for Calgary. Less we not forget that you might have to fly in Halifax of Calgary even if you are hired out of Toronto. Troy will make you aware of that at the interview.
Someone also mentioned TT for the job, I know of some guys with a few hundred hours that were hired out of there. They were talented pilots though.
Anyways I hope this helps as this is just pilot talk from the coffee shop but with the right people.

I believe it's about $2,000-$2,100 take home a month. (Year 1 F/O)
Per diems will top that up for an additional $500-800
Jump seat agreement: Yes. On westjet, porter, sunwing, bunch of american carriers that are not part of Air Canada "zedfare" agreement.
Good luck, and be prepared to work about 100hrs a month! Good time builder, but you'll be a zombie;)

I think it's closer to 1800/month. Gross=28 000$, minus 20% tax rate-ish=1866 a month, subtract the medical benefits and union fees, I think it's about 1800 a month, I may be wrong. The per diem rate is low, but about 500 a month most likely. But who cares, per diem is not income. If you're using per diem to pay bills, you're living beyond your means.
It's a great company though, they'll tell you the deal from the get go, tell you to get time, won't bond you to hold you and will put in a good word to the big boys if you do well. Decide from there...

Georgian is a tough gig right now. It's not that great of a job. It use to be. If you don't absolutely have to take the job don't. If you are the type of person that doesn't like being pushed around (consistently), you won't like working there. Unfortunately it is being run more like a 703 operation right now. Very bush.
It has been said many times that Bearskin, Wasaya and some of the other northern operators have better working conditions than Air Georgian.
For those of you in YYC, there are probably better operators to work for from the perspective of working conditions and pay.
Best thing about it is the pilots that work there.
If you take the job and ending up getting in the bad books of management you will have very little chance of getting on at AC or WJ. You will need them as a reference for sure. They will hold this over your head, and the Union's head.

Heard the little guy at the top has a firm grip. Guess he forgot what team he was on.
