Hey does anyone know how the Antarctic rotation works for Borek? Are you down there for the whole winter or do guys rotate in and out. How long is the rotation? Thanks, just curios

Depends on the contract, your desire for hours, and your family.
Mainly it's a half tour of two months. If the contract base is hard to fly to, then it's four months and a bit.

Is it tough to get on...how many slots come open? I suppose it is a coveted rotation.

The number of aircraft each season varies, but there's a dozen on average.
There might be two or three new FO's a season.
In the otter part of the company, there're a handful of captains who haven't been. Maybe four. It's a formative experience for our crews.
The number of pilots who got hired and straight into Antarctica would be extremely low.

H. Perk never had a shortage of bacon in his tent when I was down there.... in fact, I can honestly remember arriving at upstream Bravo drill site only to find all the women naked in the warm drill water vessel.... things could get a little "jurassic park" down there and under the arms after several months on the ice... cool time, and I am glad I did it... if you want to log a full bank of excellent memories go work for the big KB in YYC... you'll see the world and then some...
