TS travel bennies
Hopefully someone in the know can shed some light on what Transat's interline/zedfare agreements are like. I heard it used to be a better situation than it is now, but I'd like to know what the present reality is.

Interline here are worth $&@?
Ok we get some good deals on flts and vacation with TS.
But when it comes to Zed it's 0.

That's unfortunate. But doesn't TS run a whole bunch of scheduled stuff to Europe in the summer, as opposed to simply charter runs?

There's jumpseat on other airlines too, such as AC, WJ, etc. These benefits start day 1. No zed fares. Travel benefits on TS flights start after 6 months, and include a certain amount of confirmed/standby passes for you and family.

Hey Topper;
Do you know the reason why there's no Zed? It appears that TS runs at least a bit of scheduled stuff, so they should definitely qualify. Is it because the company doesn't want to pay the fee? It just seems ridiculous to not participate in a system that provides global travel at amazing rates.
Christ, even Winair has Zeds to a certain degree.

I have no idea. It would be nice though, then again, on my days off I have no desire whatsoever to get in an airplane and travel across the world as I do enough of that when working
If you have a wife or girlfriend that's keen on travelling or is just dating you for your travel passes, TS flies to a wide enough variety of destinations anyways that you should be able to go somewhere nice without Zeds. If you're trying to get places in EU that we don't fly to, you could easily take the train or a cheap LCC like RyanAir or EasyJet, where the cost is not much different than a Zed fare.
Having the confirmed passes is a nice benefit though, especially on international destinations. Flying standby or trying to use jumpseat out of EU on AC can be pretty tricky.
