With regards to the recent ads for BE20 and PC-12 captains rotating out of Iqaluit, are the pilots able to live anywhere in Canada or are they required to live in YWG? Also, how difficult is it to move onto the Lear?

Not sure where the company will be expecting new hires for YFB to live - more likely to be YOW than YFB - current YFB employees can live anywhere in North America, but things might have changed.

Won't be easy to get a Lear spot - especially left seat.

Why does it have to been in North America? Do they call you in on your days off sometimes?

King Air spots will most likely be filled internally. They are talking about hiring from the outside for the PC12 but who knows. Lots of qualified candidates at the company right now.

You can live anywhere in the world but you are responsible for getting yourself to YOW if you are based in YFB and if you are based in either YRT or YYQ you have to get yourself to YWG. There is the AC jumpseat agreement as well. If you are based on the charter machines you will have to find your own accommodations when in Winnipeg.

Schedule is 13 on, 1 travel day, 12 off.

They have several internal candidates with the time etc to upgrade internally. No one I know there will say why they posted these jobs outside of the company. Perhaps they don't intend to upgrade from within.

If flying the line isn't for you, there's always the Operations Manager position. You'd have to have knowledge of the American FAR's for some reason. I don't know how much business they do down south.

I do about 55 hours per rotation on average. Can be as high as 80. That's on Medevacs out of YRT. Charters are much less usually. I have heard that they only do about 30 hours per rotation. I have no idea how much they fly out of YFB.

Hey guys,

We fly an average of 35 to 40 hours a month out of YFB on the 200. It can go as high as 65 when we are crazy busy.
