ARTHUR, Ont. — Provincial police say a 75-year-old pilot received minor injuries while making an emergency landing in southwestern Ontario.
Police say a Smith Piper Cub airplane was towing a glider Wednesday afternoon when it experienced engine trouble shortly after takeoff.
The glider landed safely while the tow plane landed on a property near Arthur, Ont., about 50 kilometres north of Kitchener, causing damage to a mail box and the airplane.
The pilot, from Fergus, Ont., received minor injuries and was taken to Groves Memorial Hospital in Fergus as a precaution.
The Transportation Safety Board of Canada has been notified of the crash.

The company was sold and the name changed to Backcountry Supercubs.
If we can put oil in the engine while we're flying then we have absolutely no problem at all.

You can tow gliders with a homebuilt? I would have thought you would need a certified plane.
We're all here, because we're not all there.

Glider clubs are simply clubs and not a commercial operation. All privately registered aircraft.mag check wrote:You can tow gliders with a homebuilt? I would have thought you would need a certified plane.

Which glider operation and which airfield did this happen at? There are several glider operations within 20 or so miles of Arthur and according to my old CFS there is no airfield named the "Arthur Aerodrome."
