SkyVan pilots
I like to look through the ads for jobs. Gives me a bit of a window on the industry.
Which brings me to the ad for Skyvan pilots... No company name, no requirements..Well, actually nothing other than send me your resume and contact numbers. I find it hard to believe that anyone would actually respond to that...what do you say?
"Please find attached my resume and contact numbers. which I believe, shows I meet all the requirments requested in your ad.. I have heard nothing but good things about your company, and would like the opportunity to demonstate how my knowlege, experience and skills are a good fit for your operation."
Or do you just send in the old resume, contact numbers, and a quick note to say. "I am desperate. I will take any job. I dont care. Just hire me"
Maybe I am being harsh. Perhaps some people who have applied would set me straight and explain how and why you reply to an ad devoid of almost everything except the type of plane, and a general description of the operations area.
It is intriging that people would apply for a job with such few details. Kind of like the ads for professional vacuum cleaner demonstraters....dont scare them away.

I replied.
It could be any number of things:
It could be any number of things:
- a test from someone trying to figure out who wants to change companies. In which case I shouldn't hear anything back.
- a start-up operation that wants to keep some details under wraps for now.
- an established Shorts operator that has acquired a specific contract and wants to keep those details private.
- someone who's not very familiar with Avcanada that posted the ad in between two other things needing urgent attention.
- someone who wants to filter out some posters from here.
- ...
Re: SkyVan pilots
I once was perusing the website for the Hells Angels. For the life of me, I don't remember why. This reminds me a bit of the "F.A.Q." section ~Which brings me to the ad for Skyvan pilots... I find it hard to believe that anyone would actually respond to that...what do you say?.... It is intriging that people would apply for a job with such few details.
1)
Q. "What do I have to do to become a member of the Hells Angles?"
A. "If you have to ask this question, you will never become a member of the Hells Angels."
2)
Q. "Where is the nearest Hells Angels Chapter located?"
A. "Like the question above, if you are asking this question, the answer is none of your business."
