CARE-EN-TEE tail: any plans for repaint?
I'm only a line driver. Anyone know if there are any plans to repaint the airplane; heard a rumour about 6 months ago, then nothing.

I recently flew it. The paint is still in really good condition, which really is too bad because I think we need to erase a certain ex-CEO's legacy.

This is more of a Bob C. scheme/legacy.Jastapilot wrote:I recently flew it. The paint is still in really good condition, which really is too bad because I think we need to erase a certain ex-CEO's legacy.
There are plans in place to reprint soon.

001 has not had new paint since it left Boeing so why would we redo the Care tail

The early tails are getting due for some new paint.....

Actually, the NG's are repainted regularly during heavy checks in Trois-Riviers. The easiest way to tell if one has been repainted is to look at the C- registration near the tail. The font is different when repainted.J31 wrote:001 has not had new paint since it left Boeing so why would we redo the Care tail![]()

I too hope the care-antee thing gets redone. There were rumours awhile back about a WestJet Vacation theme... maybe something with a bikini in it? Has anyone seen that Sunwing machine with the Oasis resort promo? Weird mix of colors, but nice scenery!

Tail 008 - repainted - look at the "G" in the registration and how small the registration font is.

Tail 008 - original paint - different "G" and font is slightly bigger.

Here's hoping for a Hedonism logo...
Re: CARE-EN-TEE tail: any plans for repaint?
I stand corrected flybye! My point being that there are fin's that need paint more than the care plane.
Re: CARE-EN-TEE tail: any plans for repaint?
there were a few tails that ended up with some type of bad primer, and they quickly developed a boeing rash and started shedding paint....long before their 10 paint warranty. It was tossed back n forth between Seattle and Cowtown until they ponied up for a corrective plan.
never liked the special paint scheme. Amateur hour!

No I'm not fond of care tail paint either. But no point repainting an aircraft just because it is not well liked. Lots of life still left in the care en tee aircraft's paint.

Its costs $150,000 to repaint a 737, regardless of what colour scheme you're starting with. Any one willing to trade their profit share cheque? I'm not.
Ironically the paint on 812 is in the best shape of all our 737s, so its not getting redone any time soon.

I believe it will be getting repainted but when I asked there was no timeline given by the Executives.
I'm more interested in what we're going to do with delivery of aircraft 100. About 8 years ago Air Canada painted a 320 with the Canadian flag on it. If you looked closely all of the red colour was actually signatures of all of the airline employees at the time. I thought that was awesome. We have some bright people at Westjet and I'd hope that we do something creative similar to that.
