WJ Regional Hiring Pool?
Just speculating here but as WJ mainline pilots will not likely go over to the regional where will they fill the captain pool for the new regional? Will the try and scoop up as much dash 8/705 turbo prop captains from the Sunwest's/North Cariboo's/Calm Air type outfits or will they be hiring guys with 5000 and captain on 1900's and similar type's. Its going to be interesting as there usually seems to be a small amount of experienced 705 captains on the market as most are already working at a reputable outfit.

Well, I for one would be interested.
Jet captain with 8500+ hrs, 5500+ jet, 6000+ pic and NO desire to go to mainline. I'd like to start flying more domestic and be home more.

I guess we'll just have to see how it all shakes out...
I'm not losing any sleep over all the details, we have a Kick a$$ HR department who are doing a pretty good job, if you asked me.

I have a question that relates to this topic. I assume that the mainline never hired any pilots directly off the Caravan or the PC12 or the like(SE-Turbine)... in your opinion do you think the regional might hire those guys at least into the right seat of whatever the regional is going to be operating? I doubt it, but I may know a guy who'd be interested in the answer to this here question!

Re: WJ Regional Hiring Pool?
Indeed - Very curious to know how WJ regional will value PC12 time. couple friends of mine, now on Q400 agree PC12 helped them a lot in terms of flying glass.. despite having flown many other larger steam gauge types, BA32, BE10, they seem to agree the EFIS on PC12 helped them most in terms of learning curve into Q400 systems.
Wonder what you guys think about value of PC12 time vs less advanced, but larger twin-turbines for WJ regional!? I know it will never equal Multi PIC, but still valuable hours! I know Porter likes PC12 guys. Another old friend only had PC12 PIC time, now flying left seat at Porter...

Reminds me of a guy who said his 172 time on G1000 was better than my Falcon 50 PIC time because it was all old school except dual UNS's.
He was probably right, I'm still flying steam.
