Just trying to get an idea of how the pool system works...
I realize the format is your score, then you either do very well and get on course within weeks, or are eventually get on course OR eventually get pushed out by higher scores on incoming pool candidates.... I have heard it often better to get a shitty score so you can reapply sooner and get a crack at doing much better in the interview.... but my question is for those that were stuck in the middle for a long time.... specifically trying to get an idea of what's the longest a candidate has stayed in the pool and still gotten a course date.
For the two PFO letters, is it safe to assume the " Thank you for your interest" PFO's go out relatively quickly after interview as opposed to the " Please Re-Apply" ?
Also, is the "please reapply in 6 months" based on receipt of that email or based upon the time you interviewed?
Thanks much,
DH

My understanding is that if you are in the pool you won't be pushed out. You just have to be patient. A few years ago it was taking them about 7 months to work their way through the pool.

Here was my experience:
Interviewed on March 7th 2011 and received a PFO letter on May 23th. Weird thing was it was dated a month after the interview, not sure what that was all about. Either way reapply was based on date of interview according to the letter.
