Is there a specific place here where one could put up notices for aviation happenings/ events/ fly ins and other such things of interest? Could we make a new forum for that?

Yes, I think it would be very useful to have a separate forum for fly-ins/events. Preferably somewhere in the 'top aviation forums' so people see it.

Or at least they could sticky them in general discussion until the date of. Even locked so guys like me can't pollute them. Then you would not have to keep them bumped like Tom and the B-17 thread.
