KLN-90B
Anyone have or know of a desktop (PC) simulator for the KLN-90B GPS? The only thing I could find was for an -89 and it seems pretty different.

I am sure that Permieter Academy is using it still in their MIFR training. When I was there, it was mandatory to learn the KLN-90, and we actually got some certification upon completion?
Get in touch with the school, and maybe they'll send you a lillte ground school booklet...its like a little manual. Its not something too fancy, but its a start....and I got to say, most of the content relates to AIP and CAP chart photocopying
, so don't get too excited...
but you never know, maybe they got an updated version

Check to see if the unit will receive sufficient signal when parked in the hangar. In the summer sometimes with the hangar doors open they will run OK.
Usually if the airplane is hangared or down for maintenance an opportunity exists to use an installed unit for training. I have seen a portable tray for bench running the KLN90B used for training as well, but you need a spare reciever and database.
