That should be good for the diabetes population.

Beat them by several years, both Pizza Hut and KFC set up in the Northern Store in Oxford House around 1995 or 96. When it first opened they were flying in 30,000 to 40,000 lbs of chicken a week, tapered off after about 2 months to about 5,000 lbs per week.Colonel Sanders chicken can't be far behind!

Tim Hortons coffee cups and donut boxes rolling around on the street will be a nice complement to the broken down snowmobiles and stray dogs...although a nice warm Timmies on court day is a step up from when I was there.

I might be wrong but isnt there already a Tim Hortons in a more northerly community that is also fly in only during the summer. Im thinking Nunavut or NWT?

Yes there is one in YFB now. They are just kiosks at grocery stores, you can't acutally fly-in and park you airplane next to one, which is what I would have assumed the word fly-in to be. You could also sail in to YFB I suppose.

I was thinking the same thing after I read this (from the article)ivtec wrote:That should be good for the diabetes population.
"Getting affordable and nutritious food to the north is such an issue that Manitoba's government launched the Northern Healthy Foods Initiative to find ways to reduce the cost of health foods."
Yet they are hauling up doughnuts instead.

Somewhere near the end of 2010. I think they have 3 kiosks, one at Northmart the other two are at the convenience stores.Rowdy wrote:When did they open in YFB? I havent been through there since 2010..
