AME conventions

Did anyone attend the Western AME galla in Calgary this year? I heard the one last yr in Edmonton was poorly attended and was wondering if the attendence is up this yr?

Don't have an answer for that one but as an outsider looking in, Edmonton is an Aviation wasteland. Closing the Muni has made that happen. With $2 Billion being spent on YYC why would they even think of having the convention anywhere but Calgary?

Recently spent two weeks out at the Edmonton muni on contract. Literally had to doge the tumbleweeds. Its a wasteland there, I can only imagine the convention will be held in Calgary.

Hope the 2 replies above attended the event in Calgary, as the numbers were about the same from Edmonton the year before.

Attended for first time this year. Sent by company. Couldn't attend much due to work but it seemed pretty quiet. Was nothing there really earth-shatteringly informative, but I understand the troubleshooting mini-course was great.

Very little fling-wing attendance I noticed.

Poked my head in the AGM - declining membership was definitely something on the agenda.
