I think the guys should get those funky high-heeled shoes, as well as the hats.
Re: Air Canada Rouge Uniforms
Are these actual uniforms or costumes from a broadway musical?
Re: Air Canada Rouge Uniforms
I can't decide if it's a joke or not. The website seems legit ... sort of.

Male uniforms kinda remind me of what Gilligan wore on Gilligan's Island.....

They're actually not pleather, they're kinda nylon with a removable liner; Jazz has the same ones. They're not the greatest coats.Flygal wrote:They look like "hipsters" to me, noSleeve of Wizard wrote:It looks sorta hip.? Those pleather rain jackets will be great in the hot CUN/PUJ sun.

The motif is kinda cool - something to get used to. It would just be nice for VF imagewear to make pants that don't come up to one's nipples.
Re: Air Canada Rouge Uniforms
I think the outfit looks fine, as an outfit. Love the hat.
It's no good as a flight attendant uniform though.

It would seem to me that if Rouge management thinks this "uniform" is actually a good idea, than Rouge is going to have a short and nasty life.....

+1. All of Air Canada management should be replaced and they should get someone in there that can change the culture of the company and motivate employees rather than re-painting planes every 10 minutes.Big Pistons Forever wrote:It would seem to me that if Rouge management thinks this "uniform" is actually a good idea, than Rouge is going to have a short and nasty life.....

THe market Rouge is targeting choose airlines predominantly on price and not the style of clothes worn by the biscuit shooters. Wardair managed to fill airplanes that had the most hideous interiors ever seen in aviation. They had a reputation for outstanding in flight service. They had a screaming orange interior, yet they were a profitable airline.Big Pistons Forever wrote:It would seem to me that if Rouge management thinks this "uniform" is actually a good idea, than Rouge is going to have a short and nasty life.....
There is little brand loyalty for the market segment Rouge is after. Price, Destinations, On time departure/arrival, ff points, etc. Despite that, I'm not convinced this will be a success. I have been wrong before. Just ask my wife.
Re: Air Canada Rouge Uniforms
I laugh at these comments. Boys and girls, get outta the North, and or away from the kids soccer games and walk around a hip area of town. It will all make sense. Although i'm not a fan of the lack of any form fitting female uniform that the young and dumb new F/A's will be wearing (I say this because of the pay) I'm a fan. Except they will have to replace these in 3 years as they will be severely out of style by that point. But hey, maybe the guy above it right. Maybe Rouge is only a 2 year plan. haha
Re: Air Canada Rouge Uniforms
It's not that bad actually.....I've seen a lot worse.
don't forget this is going to be catered to vacation public mostly....so I guess "relaxed" style is "in".
I wonder if the height to weight proportions are going to be relaxed as well???

……. And please no third rate stand-up comedy routine nor requests to wave at the FA in back of the aircraft. Just get the thing on the runway, aim it in the right direction and get on with it.Mig29 wrote:It's not that bad actually.....I've seen a lot worse.

On ~20 grand a year they will be slim flight attendants no doubt!Mig29 wrote:It's not that bad actually.....I've seen a lot worse.

Wardair was so successful and profitable they were within days, yes, days of collapse before Canadian management quite stupidly bought them.bmc wrote:THe market Rouge is targeting choose airlines predominantly on price and not the style of clothes worn by the biscuit shooters. That Wardair was "successful and profitable" is pure revisionist history.
Then again, Porter likes to be considered "successful" which is an accurate description from a product perspective, but horribly inaccurate as it pertains to their business results since launch.
Think "Visibly unique and easily contrasted". The market does not need another tweedle dee / tweedle dumber airline. If it's the same as all the others without a significant unit cost advantage, what's the point of the exercise?

Canadi>n Management lived to regret that mistake and they knew it seconds after the deal was done.
The big winner, Max running off to the bank with a Quarter Billion Dollars for a bankrupt shell of an Airline. Sitting in the Left Seat of his Challenger, with his "Handler / Babysitter" in the Right Seat.

Will look great on everybody that's 20 lbs below their healthy weight. The rest are going to look a collision between Paulie from Rocky... and The Gap

Can we please stay away from sentiments like "biscut shooter" or the like. If thats what you think of your FA, you should stick to floats or doing bag runs.
Re: Air Canada Rouge Uniforms
Ours are only pretzel pushers now. The biscuit days are long gone.

Re: Air Canada Rouge Uniforms
I saw a crew of Rouge FA's yesterday stumbling around the airport looking like they were a lost 7 year old in a Mall.
Their uniforms a joke, I feel bad for them. Especially the 40 year old + that have to dress like hipsters from the Mile end.
Imagin them in the crew line up next to Air france, B.A or Emirates.
