Looking to start and need some help
Good day,
For the longest time, I have been thinking about getting started in this business. Now it is time
I'm live in North bay, Ontario and looking for good schools to do my flight lessons.
Can any one recommend any ?
Any advice in the steps ?
Any information will be good.
Thanks

Re: Looking to start and need some help
Good morning,
I can't speak about flying schools in Ontario, but the steps you need to take are:
1. Use search function on this website, MANY similar posts to yours have been made and discussed before.
2. After some reading, visit several schools. It might be an idea to just turn up and see how you're treated - or give them a call and book an appointment for a tour. You'll get a good feel for the place once you've actually been there and spoken with people.
3. Take a familiarisation flight with your shortlisted school(s). As you'll be spending a considerable amount of time with the instructors, you should make sure you don't mind sitting shoulder to shoulder with them!
Remember, you'll be paying a LOT of money to these people. You should demand quality and service in return... a lesson I learned perhaps a little too late.

Re: Looking to start and need some help
You need to first research whether this is even a career path you want. Which there plenty of threads about and you will want to read those as there is some very eye opening advice and personal experiences posted in those threads.
The last thing on your list should be finding a school.

I agree that reading as much as possible on the subject is a good idea, it will help you make an informed decision. I was under the impression you'd already made a conscious decision to start training.kevinsky18 wrote:You need to first research whether this is even a career path you want. It is worth mentioning that lots (most?) of pilots will take all the advice they can about reconsidering aviation as a career and then ignore it
