The airline also plans to operate following services but they’re currently displaying Air Canada Mainline service:
Toronto – Cancun
Toronto – Huatulco

Toronto – San Jose/Los Cabos

My main question, is 10 weekly 767 service to Vegas a smart move? In the Rouge 767 seating config its 250 seats. That's 2500 seats per week, opposed to the 14 weekly 319 service at 120 seat config and just under 1700 seats per week. Essentially they are upgrading from 14 weekly 319 service to almost 21 weekly... Given the operating costs of a 767 on a cross country trip compared to that of an A319, are these routes money makers or are they even sustainable for the winter season??

Im not sure how full the mainline flights were to Vegas but this seems like a huge increase in seats to and from LAS.

Right now it is x2 flights per day on Sunday, Thursday and Friday and x1 the rest of the days.

This schedule isn't comparing last winter to next winter, it's comparing one season (fall) to the next (winter). Mainline 319's are used in the summer to LAS, while 320's, 321's and even 767's have been used in past winters on the YYZ-LAS route. I'd read somewhere else that rouge will actually be flying less daily seats on the YYZ-LAS route this upcoming winter than AC mainline operated in 2012.

Was chatting with an Air Canada Flight Attendant while on a positioning flight on AC... She was telling me that most of the south flying for mainline has or is being transferred to Rouge.

Cost saving measure for AC mainline.

EA, That's the idea.

The schedule posted is planned with 10 aircraft (2 B767's and 8 A319's). By Dec 2014 rouge will have a fleet of 32, the following December 42 aircraft.

Opps, I probably should have realized that.

Last winter they ran double daily 321 service. 175 seats each x14 is 2450 seats per week. So really no jump at all. If anything probably more cost effective turning 4 x2 daily flights into 1. We'll see how they do this winter. Still interesting that Cancun hasn't been added to Rouge flights though? Hopefully it'll bring some good competition to WG, WJ and TS.

Just found this while surfing on Air Canada's Website.

Looks like AC Mainline is transferring a ton of routes over to Rouge.

All routes from Toronto to Cuba will be operated by Rouge by the 23rd of December, with the exception of the daily Havana flight.
YYZ-VRA
YYZ-HOG
YYZ-SNU
YYZ-CCC

All routes from Toronto to Dominican Republic will be operated by Rouge by the 22nd of December.
YYZ-PUJ
YYZ-LRM
YYZ-POP
YYZ-AZS

All routes from Toronto to Costa Rica will be operated by Rouge by the 19th of December.
YYZ-LIR
YYZ-SJO

All routes from Toronto to Jamaica will be operated by Rouge by the 1st of November.
YYZ-MBJ
YYZ-KIN

All Routes from Toronto to Mexico will be operated by Rouge by the 25th of December, With the exception of the Daily Mexico City flight, and the Saturday only service to Ixtapa and Cozumel.
YYZ-CUN
YYZ-HUX
YYZ-SJD
YYZ-PVR

Sunday only Toronto - Exuma service will be operated by Rouge as of November 3rd.
Friday only Toronto - Curacao service will be operated by Rouge as of December 20th.
Monday only Toronto - Grenada service will be operated by Rouge as of December 16th.
Monday only Toronto - St. Kitts service will be operated by Rouge as of November 4th.

I would assume a handful of A319's will be transferred to the ACR fleet within the next few weeks. I know they are getting 2 767's very soon, do they plan on operating most of these routes with the 767?
