First year Twin Otter salary

Post by questionpilot »

Due to recent pay scale restructuring, I am wondering what you folks have made, over the years, for your first year left seat Twin Otter.

Year
Type (Wheel,Float,Ski)
Salary per year (Tax, No Tax, Tax exemption)
Time off per year
Total Time

Trying to get a feel for what the salaries have been like in the past comparing to now. Negotiation fodder.

Thanks

Do you really think there is a simple answer to this question? How many -6 operators are there out there, then thats how many payscales there are, If you're flying the sched on the coast you're going to compare the salary to the crew of Air Inuit in BFN?

Yes. I was planning on comparing each pay scale, based on location, rotation and even gosh darn inflation. It is my question. As I said before, I am trying to get a feel for what the salaries have been like in the past compared to now. Have a nice day.

BFN!? I don't remember the last time I flew south of the arctic circle other than a ferry flight so Air Inuits area of operations seems pretty civilized.

Supposed to be 3 weeks on and three weeks off domestically.

Our year one capts are starting in the 50k-55 range.

Our top scale -6 capts are in the 80k-110 range.

edited to reflect OPs question, sorry.

1st year was 2000 into 2001. Flying the sched on the west coast mixed in with a bit of charter work. It was a direct entry captain position. 100% floats. If memory serves, I made 42000 over that year based on about 80 hours a month. There was a three month probation wage as well. Seems to me during that time my semi monthly pay check netted just under a grand. After probation I was netting about 2500 a month for a 3500 gross pay. We were certainly not a company known for its good compensation!
