Re: CSERIES First Flight
Delays, delays and more delays.
I know its common for new types and it can be frustrating, but its also the nature of the process.
Personally, I hope that Bombardier get this program off the ground (pardon the pun) and has great success with the C series especially being a great Canadian company. But honestly..........
Bombardier seems to be struggling to catch up on the C series and compete against Embraer E190 a/c. I honestly hope that they've created something really special, because they're competing against a well proven, well received, praised and loved a/c by both pilots, passengers and airlines. Bombardier's delays are not helping either.
I hope they succeed in getting this bird off the ground

Re: CSERIES First Flight
Sorry, are you referring to the Embraer E190? Passenger, pilot and airline acceptance in my part of the world has been a little less enthusiastic about the Embraer E-Jets. We operated a small, trial fleet. . . and disposed of it. Not saying that the Embraers weren't a fun airplane to fly, though. But after looking inside the cabin and flight deck mock-up of the C-series, I think this airplane will be really loved by pilots, pax, and bean counters. I also think that it's size and capabilities will give the Boeing 737's and Airbus A320 series a run for their money.slowstream wrote:I honestly hope that they've created something really special, because they're competing against a well proven, well received, praised and loved a/c by both pilots, passengers and airlines.

Talking strictly as a passenger....I much prefer, when flying on regional airlines, to be on the Embrear jets rather than the existing Bombardier CRJs.....I find the Embrear jets more comfortable, roomier and quieter.Panama Jack wrote:Sorry, are you referring to the Embraer E190? Re: CSERIES First Flight
I've never actually heard a pilot speak highly of the Embraer. Granted, as a passenger I'd rather be on it over the CRJ, but at that point you're comparing apples and grapes.

Absolutely agreed. But if you like the creature comforts of the Embraer E-jets, you are going to love the C-series. I am not sure whether "regional jet" will be an appropriate name for the C-series. It would a bit like calling a Boeing 737-200 or the 737 Classic series "regional jets". That is why I see that the C-series will be a serious competitor for some 737 and A320-series orders.
NAT2, I've frown both the CRJ (-100 and -200's) and the Embraer E-Jets (170's and 190's) and from a pilot point of view, I liked the Embraers better. But from what I have been shown and seen, the C-series flight deck is unlike either type.

Don't get me wrong....I want to see the C-series kick-ass....after all, I live in Montreal and own shares in Bombardier

As a pax, I will always choose a jungle jet
over an RJ. That said, I hope the C-series
is a success!

Yes, sorry I was referring to the E190. Like I said I really hope that the C Series proves to be a huge success! Personally I believe after things get sorted out and all the bugs worked out that it will also be a well loved jet by all parties. To me it seems like Bombardier is trying to catch up.
I flew the CRJ200 & the 900, I did not like the 200 at all but did like flying the 900 a lot, handled much like the 737 when flying it by hand, a real pleasure to hand fly. As a passenger though I am with Genetk44, I would much prefer flying in the E190 over any CRJ series.
So I am really hoping that the C Series proves to be the huge success!

I think at the end of the day, the only parties who will end up hating the C-series are Airbus and Boeing.slowstream wrote:Personally I believe after things get sorted out and all the bugs worked out that it will also be a well loved jet by all parties.

Re: CSERIES First Flight
Having said all that the bean counters love the CRJ 700 and ESPECIALLY the 900 and 1000 as it has much lower seat mile costs than any EMB product.
