Re: float flying
Great crew over there in Nestor Falls! I rolled in with a C180 to pick up some pax. It was 4 degree in MB when I departed with my sweater on and ended up being 26C by the time I was leaving Nestor. The guys felt pretty bad for me sweating my ass off in a hoodie, so they kindly gave me a company t-shirt.
That'll teach me....either a) to bring a t-shirt, or b) how to get free gear
Needless to say, I've been in and out of there quite a few times now and they are always a pleasant crew! Hopefully see yea next season!

Re: float flying
There are really only three aircraft that I want to fly, have in my logbook, experience etc. The beech 18 on floats is one. The other is the ol' Nordyne. The third will remain secret.

How about an N3N on floats? This one was, and may still be, up in Pender Harbour.Rowdy wrote:There are really only three aircraft that I want to fly, have in my logbook, experience etc. The beech 18 on floats is one. The other is the ol' Nordyne. The third will remain secret.

So I guess norsmens are not what you want for smaller lakes...
Re: float flying
Playing with my new GoPro camera. Landing and taking off this small lake near Chapleau, ON is challenging because you have to thread the needle through the narrows in the middle of the lake. Glassy water and a hot day just make it more interesting.
