premier windsor

Post by chowda »

wondering how much of the panic posts in the jobs section is because of the minimum required employees/lease terms with the city

http://blogs.windsorstar.com/2013/09/20 ... on-change/

other probability is if its the same pay scale as three rivers, then theres probably no stampede.

Not a problem. Premier can soon approach Lisa Raitt and explain that they can't attract enough local talent to staff their operation, and they need to bring in workers from "off-shore".

It's nothing new in Canada. But it's pretty freakin sad. :x

Yup. Just trying to show due diligence with attempting to hire in canada.
Next step just like cascade a few years ago - bring in filipinos at 17 bucks an hour.
Thats actually not that much less than premier pays anyhow, lol.

I applied at Premier about a year ago and I got a call from them 2 days ago and they wanted to hire me for Windsor location. I have a few buddies that works at the Three Rivers location in Quebec as contractors and they put in a good word for me when they saw my resume. I thanked my buddies for putting in the good word for me and also asked them how thick was the dust on my resume.
Anyways, I told the HR lady for Premier that they're too late to the game, but thanks for the offer.

And btw, the pay isn't so good. Last time I heard it was only 2x dollars per hour for a licensed ACA mechanic to start. And that "x" doesn't go pass 5.

I have a phone interview with the DOM tomorrow. Good info to know. I dont understand how they expect people to live on that kind of money.

No wonder they are trying to hire like mad these days. Nobody who is licensed wants to work for what an apprentice should be paid.

So, how did it go? Did they ask you to come in for a "live" interview?

The cargo agents that operate the heavy machines for loading and unloading aircraft cargo pods make like only 15 a hour. They were asking me one day how much I was making as an AME....and they shat their pants when I told them 3X.

Anyways, Skyservice is hiring for Skyregional. Apply there. They pay decent money. I have a buddy that works there. He likes it.

To be fair you get an extra .25cents per endorsement you bring with you. So if the starting ACA wage is $31.00/HR and you have 10 endorsements you'll make $33.50/HR...still not great I know....but people reading you post will assume you only get .25cents to sign out airplanes which is not true.

We are seeking highly-motivated qualified individuals interested in being part of our team. We have a full spectrum of opportunities available immediately at all of our locations within the following areas:

 Director of Quality
 Supervisors
 Inspectors
 Mechanics Technicians

 E / M2 AMEs
 Structures/Sheet Metal Technician
 Avionics Technician
 Composites Technicians

For detailed descriptions and application process, please go to:
http://www.premieraviation.ca

Please send your resume to hr@premieraviationwindsor.ca

Only candidates chosen for an interview will be contacted

They repost an average of twice a week, and except for the slight rewording, and now specifying(other ad) their need for atr/737 experienced mechs, their ad's are requiring staff for the same positions as when they started posting last November.

Are they really having that much trouble finding anybody to work for them in Windsor?

I heard from the Q/A department that Premier hired a whole bunch of automobile assembler/mechanics to work in the Windsor facility with a few licensed AMEs leading the project. One of our airplanes went to Windsor for heavy check and it came out of heavy with more snags.
