2010... Let's see how bad we can make the books look so we can screw over all union groups during negotions.
2011...Complain to government that we can't get what we want from the employees.
2012...The government tells employees take it or leave it. In the end, air canada gets what it wants. Then by Q4, AC posts first profits in years. How convenient!
2013...Creats a new low cost airline with same services and employees as mainline.
2014...pensions forgiveness given by government now Creats surplus in pension and AC now wants to go back to old ways so they don't have to pay up!
2015...AC posts record earnings, all execs are rewarded financially for job well done, and mystery cash flow appears, employees not rewarded!

Like I said before...... one side is playing chess and the other side is playing checkers.TrailerParkBoy wrote:2010... Let's see how bad we can make the books look so we can screw over all union groups during negotions.

That's very true. However in Canada for the past few years the Chess players have an allied Federal Government telling the checker players what moves they can, but mostly cannot make despite what the rule book says.rudder wrote:Like I said before...... one side is playing chess and the other side is playing checkers.
In those conditions it doesn't matter what game is played, it's rigged for the employers to win and employees to lose. Federal and Provincial Conservatives are ideologically against employee rights of any kind.

Looking thru the archives on this forum, it seems you left out an insignificant tibit. May I submit the refusal by ACPA and it's members to stop living in the past and realising that mandatory retirement was going the way of the Dodo bird. If they had, most if not all those savings for pension payments AC is now omitting because of delayed pension would have been been flowing to you pilots under a negociated deal. What was the first year savings by AC ? more or less 135 million. I would tend to believe that in subsequent years, for the foreseeable future , savings wise by AC, it should look quite similar on the bottom sheet. So, give credit where credit is due and outright stupidity also where it is due.

YES! I am glad some one understands the Zietgiest! If wages kept up with inflation we'd all be making $300k/year but instead those with power get richer by pulling strings. (However ill believe those 2015 "record earnings" when I see em Encore/Jetlines will take a chunk out of AC for sure).
