NDB track intercept question

Post by sagabwoy »

can someone please clarify this NDB track intercept question for me. see diagram below.

question was which heading to take up to do a 30 degree intercept to the 056.
no HSI/VOR/ADF/NDB indicator was given to accompany the diagram.

i thought that the hdg of the aircraft would be the same as the outbound 236 so to intercept the 056 out i would turn 266 to the right (236+30 degrees)...but i got the question wrong.

Inbound to or outbound from the NDB?

You state....To intercept the 056 out (presume you mean outbound). Then based on your sketch you would fly 026 (assuming no wind). Of course you show two NDB's so where is it actually?

To go outbound on the 056 outbound it's a 266 heading to intercept, inbound is 026.
