I took this pic on St Maarten, DWI, 25 years ago. Care to guess what it once was?

De Havilland DH 89 Rapide.

Someone told me it was a DH90 Dragonfly Rapide, but I don't know. Sure a shame to see it decomposing like that.

The DH 89 was the Dragon Rapide.

The DH 90 was the Dragonfly, a scaled down version of the Dragon Rapide.

Somewhere I have a photo showing the aircraft in better condition.

Yes too bad, I guess it is long gone to the dump.

The predecessor to the DH 89 Dragon Rapid was the DH 84 Dragon. It looks similar but has square wings and the under carriage is not contained in an integral fairing like the DH 98. The picture posted is undoubtedly the remains of a very sad looking DH 89.
