Re: IATRA
There are BE10 fitted with Garrett engines which puts it into the "high-performance" category with an excess of a Vne higher than 250kts, requiring an IATRA or As.

Re: IATRA
Actually, no. The Garrett BE10 would require a high performance type rating, whereas the IATRA is required for two-crew type ratings. Only aircraft designated as requiring two crew members (see http://www.tc.gc.ca/eng/civilaviation/o ... t-1840.htm) require a two-crew type rating, so even if the AOC says that two pilots must be used, no model of the BE10 requires an IATRA. That's why one can be a captain on it without an ATPL.FOD_Vacuum wrote:There are BE10 fitted with Garrett engines which puts it into the "high-performance" category with an excess of a Vne higher than 250kts, requiring an IATRA or As.cdnpilot77 wrote:And further to that, an IATRA is not required for the Be10.

Re: IATRA
Genuinely curious here...how does a different engine increase the Vne? Another way to ask I suppose, what is it about the old engines that limit Vne?FOD_Vacuum wrote:There are BE10 fitted with Garrett engines which puts it into the "high-performance" category with an excess of a Vne higher than 250kts, requiring an IATRA or As.cdnpilot77 wrote:And further to that, an IATRA is not required for the Be10.
The only three things a wingman should ever say: 1. "Two's up" 2. "You're on fire" 3. "I'll take the fat one"
