Stuck in Comox
Hi everyone!
My aircraft needs a replacement part, so it looks like I'll spend the next day in Comox.
I was thinking of using that time off to fly a floatplane (I've never flown one) or any interesting taildragger that I could find.
I have a car available so I can move quite a bit away from Comox.
Do you guys have any suggestions as far as flight school or people I could contact to fly with?
Cheers,
Olivier

No luck there.
Island Air seems to only be operating 182s and are not answering the phone.
Courtenay Training Center doesn't exist anymore, according to their voicemail message.
Any airplane owners in the region? I'd be very happy to pay for fuel and beers.
Cheers,
Olivier

If you don't find an airplane to fly, Fluid is a great restaurant in Courtney. I frequent there on our overnights.

If you have enough time, a mail flight leaves the Campbell River float docks tomorrow at 1300. http://www.corilair.com/mail.html

Not sure how much longer you'll be there... Or where home is... But the next closest airport of any size is Qualicum, to the south, then Nanaimo. Lots of activity at both airports, but I don't know anyone there personally to direct you to. Nanaimo Flying Club is pretty big, there's a wide variety of aircraft owned by members there...

"Home" has been Moose Jaw for a little while...
Leaving the Island tomorrow. Back towards the Prairies.
At least I had the time to travel quite a lot by car, from Campbell River to Victoria.
BC is amazing.
