Was out there in the summer to practice soft field TO/LD with my FI. Nice small field, very easy to spot from the air, just saw a white barn with orange pylons. Rwy 03/21 were closed due to construction. From the looks of it it was permanent.

Got my license out there in the '70s. Can't say what it's like now, but when I was there 03/21 was not used.

Thanks for the info!! Did it look like there was anywhere to tie down a 172 for the night? What condition was the strip? Was it reasonably smooth for a grass strip?

Re: Greenbank airport??
Their were several GA planes tied down when I went, a few low wing types, don't recall seeing any 172's. Since this is the only Grass airport I've been to, can't give you much of a comparison, just to say that the grass was low and the field looked to be well maintained.eep...2 Green wrote:smokescreen_wshh wrote:Was out there in the summer to practice soft field TO/LD with my FI. Re: Greenbank airport??
It's extremely smooth, for a grass field, and immaculately kept through the summer. I'm not sure what the drainage is like; I only tend to go when it's dry.
DId you hear the one about the jurisprudence fetishist? He got off on a technicality.
Re: Greenbank airport??
From what I know, it's one of the best maintained grass strips around the GTA. In the summer, anyway. But I haven't actually flown into it for several years now, so it's not the most current info.

Re: Greenbank airport??
I remember it being a great spot to fly into, lots of friendly, helpful people. Apparently they were/are getting an FBO, a bunch of new hangars and hard-surface runway. It looked like there was a ton of construction going on when we drove past in the spring.
Their website has kinky music on it.

Very Robbie Robertson "Somewhere Down the Crazy River"-ish. I like it!Changes in Latitudes wrote:Their website has kinky music on it.
