Re: Why would anyone want to go to Swoop?
So, to get back on thread track. I beieve that others like myself, who have maybe 10-15 years left till 65, have made a comfortable nest egg and would like a challenge to mentor/train a new cadre of engaged, keen employees willing to accept the risk in starting up a model that is provocative, and w...

Re: WestJet To Launch ULCC
And speaking of seniority, how will ALPA's 60 year old DOH policy affect current and former Encore pilots flowing to WJ? I guess we can agree that at the very least, current Encore pilots will flow to the BOTL at WJ? That is a separate issue having nothing to do with WJ's ULCC. By the way.... which...

Yes, if you alter your monthly schedule, your salary will be adjusted up or down by the number of hours changed. Apart from that you're on a salary that includes up to 16 days of work per month, some of which will be overnights. Yes thats called an hourly wage. What would I know Ive only worked her...

I'd argue the other way. Go up to to a cancer ward and sit with someone there and look for sympathy for your "disease". Calling alcoholism a disease is ignorant and insulting. Watch this it's very applicable: http://watchcartoonsonline.eu/watch/south-park-s9-e14-bloody-mary/ The only one ignorant a...

Hello, Just a small experiment! I have noticed that any negative posts about WJ get removed, often quite quickly. Two WJ threads (not flattering) were taken down in the last week, even though they were featured in news articles. However, bashing AC seems to cause no upset to the moderators unless t...

I agree there are factors out of our control but do agree slightly with the OP. I've recently noticed a lack of finesse. There's a ton of automation up front now that maybe makes it impossible to make it more comfortable for the pax in the back but the last few commercial flights I've taken were a ...

Northwestern Saskatchewan has a self appointed 126.7 sentry. (Yes, 26.7, not even guard). Crusty old guy with a small float op, who apparently forgot how to smile sometime back in the Cretaceous. If anyone says a sentence to another airplane that doesn't include a location or heading you'll be rewa...

Canada has the WORST fatigue mitigation in the world with no respect for Circadian rhythm. I was hoping Westjet would voluntarily raise the standard cuz Air Canada won't until it is written in blood. Unfortunately, Canada is nowhere near the worst in the world with fatiguing schedules. Try not to g...

I dont find it such a big deal in Canada. The Americans however are awful.
