I like how you chose your words very carefully when naming the companies. It's actually Westjet and Westjet Encore.

To have the guidance and backing of a pilot ran Union over an association that was bargaining with a loaded deck.

No, there are not a lot of you. And I'd be willing to bet you're not as law abiding as you think you are. Although after seeing your username you might actually be pretty law abiding, medevac tends to follow the rules except I know you didnt deice after picking up ice on your leading edge when you l...

Aerocourse ATPL question
I'm currently going through the different sections in the aerocourse book, but I'm curious as to what specific sections are on the SAMRA and SARON? I've looked through many, many internet resources however I'm still confused. Example is section 5: performance and weight and balance, I have a gut fee...

I'm pretty sure the proline automatically switches to true... Didn't fly a proline up north, but I seem to remember dicking around with it one day and it gave me a little "T" beside the track for Resolute to Cambridge when I punched those in.

Re: Medevac Pilot Career
Although life as a rampie is not glorious and you're bang on with your glorified floor sweeper comment, I still had lots of fun on the ramp. Get on with the right company, make a few friends that you work with and accept that you are a rampie for 1-1.5 years and you will have no problems. If you're ...

If you feel the need to post about it on avcanada then you should have felt the need to get off the airplane...or mention it to the skipper.

Make sure you know how far the runway edge lights need to be spaced apart. You might find yourself building a new runway next week and then wondering if it was 200ft or 60 meters... In all fairness I actually count the lights when lined up to see how much room there is. Having said that I don't kno...

Re: low time guy with a bit extra
That's a good point Krimson and I agree that starting your own construction company or any company for that matter is a heck of a lot harder and way more of a risk than being a rampie. But I don't really think this is a normal circumstance, could be wrong though. Just throwing ideas out there, but o...

It's the safeway my friend But see it's not the safe way. I mean sure, if you are the perfect employee, never late, always happy and never make mistakes then sure, it's the safeway. But for the most of us your time on the ramp is a little nerve racking, you're working around some EXPENSIVE pieces o...

Re: low time guy with a bit extra
Spending $10k to get a job where you make $35k doesn't sound like working smarter to me, but I see what you're getting at. However rampies don't just move cargo from position A to position B, there usually is some thinking and planning involved regarding airplanes. Where to park them, how to park th...

Re: low time guy with a bit extra
The point is that you dont want to work hard. you prefer to go the EASY way. work the ramp for 2 years and just WAIT for your turn - which I can understand in some point. Yaaaaaaaa, easy way. That's exactly how I would describe being a rampie. Care to explain how working for 2 years on the ramp(or ...
