Tyax emergency landing

I'm wondering if anyone has any information about this. The news said the Beaver had to do an emergency landing, and the six occupants are injured but recovering. I'm not interested in the mechanical details or who-did-what: it's just that it's possible one of my friends was the pilot. We haven't sp...

Re: SkyMed - CBC

I have never worked in a Northern community, nor as a medevac pilot. I was really interested to see how many traditionally underrepresented people have aviation jobs in the North. I think it's great that the show is so inclusive and has chosen to realistically portray this surprising fact of Norther...

The first African-American Woman to pilot a spacecraft

Hey! I was just reading about the recent "Inspiration 4" space flight. As you might imagine, I was attracted by the headline that Sian Proctor is now the world's very first African-American Woman to pilot a spacecraft. That's good news. It fulfills the "Inspiration" mandate wonderfully- a member of ...

Does Staples still sell that nice blue "cloud" paper? That can make a real impression on a prospective employer.

Personality Profiling? Looks like madams Briggs and Meyers strike again! Well, at least we can see, as I have tried to tell you nonbelievers, that Mr. Jay Dilley, lately of Hawk Air, has landed on his feet!

Re: Female aircraft engineer needed for mentoring - know any

Oh, sorry. I don't volunteer for things like that. I feel it's gender discrimination: whether we're selectively encouraging people or selectively discouraging people, it's still selective, and that's not right. Even if it was girls AND boys, I'd still want to be paid, however. I'm not sure I would r...

Re: Female aircraft engineer needed for mentoring - know any

About how much would a job like that pay? If it's only an hour and a half or so, I'd be happy to do it for about a hundred bucks.

Re: Hawkair recession

...and now in need of a DoM...is this a sign? I see what you are insinuating here, but you need to understand that Mr. Jay Dilley's visionary attitude towards maintenance employees is that any one of them is completely interchangeable with any other one of them, and therefore can be replaced at any...

Re: Hawkair recession

Hey, you know it's pretty unfair to spread these kinds of rumours about this company. You can be sure that any signs you might see of them not doing very well are bound to be only part of a master strategy on the part of their CEO, Mr. Jay Dilley. You can be sure that under his leadership this compa...

Sound leadership at HawkAir

I just think someone should give a shout-out to Hawk Air. Their C.E.O, Mr. Jay Dilley, could be running Hewlett-Packard, or LuLu Lemon, yet he chooses to remain in the trenches leading this little airline into the future. I think we should all watch this 23-minute-long video in which he presents som...

Re: Maintenance Engineers

As a pilot, I'm more comfortable flying in an airplane that was repaired by someone who knows his place. That tells me he/she's not living in a delusional world, and they understand that that a mechanic is exactly what they are. Its disappointing to see rational diagnosis and smart decision making g...

Re: Harvs Air Claims Copilot Time 1 to1

Don't worry, everyone. The licensing requirements were already so low, it's basically been up to employers to make sure pilots are adequately experienced to fly planes. So nothing's really changed if you think about it. Just Transport Canada further divorcing themselves from the reality of operating...

Re: Happy New year!

Don't forget to check out Jay Diley's (CEO of hawk air) "twitter" feed. There's a lot of valuable information there about "leadership". I think, in the year to come, we could all stand to learn something from this visionary.

I guess I just don't understand why more pilots aren't willing to congratulate Jay Dilley, CEO of Hawk Air , on his recently becoming (according to Linkedin ), a professional pilot and flight planner. This is a big achievement. "Management Science" is a big deal, and I would have thought that more p...

Re: Linkedin

Linkedin is great! You can post your professional qualifications on your profile so others can see what you've achieved. It's great for networking! Recently, for example, Hawk Air CEO Jay Dilley added "Piloting" and "Flight Planning" to his list of professional qualifications on Linkedin . I'm sure...
